Milton J. Dance Company, was established in 1912.  As the owner and a full time auctioneer, Milton J. Dance, Sr. was active on a daily basis until his death in 1977, at age 87.  Milton J. “Laddie” Dance, Jr worked full time from 1946 to 1962, when he began to pursue a full time career selling thoroughbred horses at Auction.

Steve Dance joined his grandfather and uncle in the Fall of 1961 after graduating from Reppert School of Auctioneering and continues to operate the business today.  Steve attended the Certified Auctioneers Institute at Indiana University and obtained the CAI designation.

Milton J. Dance Company was incorporated in 1972 and now is trading as Steve Dance Auctions.  This family owned business has been serving the community for over 100 years!

Steve Dance - March 6, 1943 - May 25, 2021

We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Steve Dance. All are invited to the celebration of Steve’s life, whose career as an auctioneer spanned over a half-a-century with his own Milton J. Dance Co. as well as Fasig-Tipton. The sales pavilion at the Maryland State Fair Grounds in Timonium, MD may be accessed through the Marquee (South) Gate on York Road, near its intersection with Timonium Road.
